WHAT WE’RE ALL ABOUT

In addition to performing many community projects and local missions such as the Veteran’s Footlocker Drive, UMCOR health kit drive, CROP walk, and more, each year the Youth Mission Group travels to help out communities in need.  In the past we have traveled to California and Colorado to assist those communities after natural disasters.

Our 2016 Mission Trip

BelizeBelize Add

When We Went

In 2016 we traveled during the summer break.  We left on June 18th, and returned June 24th.

Why We Went

As with many countries in Central America, there is a large percentage of the population who live in poverty and are in need of Christian fellowship, encouragement, and support.  This was an outstanding opportunity for our youth to be a witness for Jesus Christ and experience the blessings of unconditional giving.  This was a time for our youth to discover that the world is larger than our local community, and that not everyone has the opportunity to experience the privileges we enjoy.

What We Did

Through the auspises of Praying Pelican Missions, each youth missionary along side of the adult leaders provided 35+ hours of service to local churches in all areas of ministry.  Some of the ministry opportunities were home visits, construction, vacation bible school, working with the disabled and orphanages, and even helping with small businesses.

Who Went

This year our Youth Mission Team was comprised of 10 youth and four adult leaders.
